Volunteer
Calling all volunteers! If you are interested in helping us further the mission of DDC Clinic, we have volunteer opportunities available. We are looking for people who would coordinate or assist with the following:
Fundraising Events
We hold two major fundraisers each year; in the spring we host a dinner and auction at an event we call Patchwork. In the fall the Amish board members put on a traditional Amish auction.We are always in need of donated items for both events. Some examples of items that are in high demand include gift certificates, event tickets, small items of furniture, electronic gadgets, toys, books and anything unique or handcrafted.
We are also always in need of volunteers for both events. For Patchwork, we need people willing to help with Registration, the Silent Auction tables, Raffles and Check Out. For the Amish auction, we need people willing to help with picking up donations, organizing donations and clean up.
Education
We are looking for people interested in coordinating events for education purposes, for example, Wellness Days, Mother’s Club, Family Gatherings or Grief Support.
Newsletters
We are looking for people interested in writing articles for our newsletters. We produce two separate newsletters; one geared more to our non-Amish donors and supporters and one focused on the Amish community and education.
Manuscripts
We are in need of people who can assist with manuscripts being submitted to scientific journals. This is a very specialized volunteer opportunity and one that requires prior experience and skill in scientific journal writing or editing. It also requires someone who can respond on short notice and produce results quickly.
