National Cohen Syndrome Support Group
Cohen Syndrome is a rare genetic disorder caused by a recessive
gene. There are approximately 135 known cases worldwide. DDC
Clinic works with 30 Cohen individuals.
Children with Cohen syndrome generally have learning disabilities
and cognitive delays. They have a typical facial appearance and
usually experience eye problems, such as short-sightedness
(myopia) and degeneration of the retina.
Children with Cohen syndrome tend to be very sociable. They are
loving and take a lively interest in the world around them.
Our first National Cohen Syndrome support weekend was held June
18 and 19, 2004. Click
