DDC Clinic — Center for Special Needs Children is seeking a physician to join its highly respected center for the care of children with complex conditions. In operation since 2002, and now having served nearly 1000 patient families, our non-profit clinic was founded in a unique collaboration of the Amish and non-Amish communities with the mission to improve the quality of life for people with special needs caused by rare genetic disorders.
Our center is a medical home providing culturally competent, highly personalized medical services, patient-centered research, an in-house CLIA-certified genetics laboratory, and education and support for families and collaborating clinicians. Our 11,000 square foot LEED Gold facility was completed in 2009 and designed expressly to provide world-class personalized medicine and support services in an environment that's both comfortable for patient families and supportive of research and subspecialty collaborations with regional, national and international partners.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to practice highly-personalized medicine in a well-supported, community clinic with a 16 year track record of identifying, diagnosing and treating patients affected by more than 100 rare conditions. DDC research collaborations have resulted in over 40 peer-reviewed publications and our Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory has grown to offer testing for more than 500 genetic conditions to clinicians worldwide.
DDC Clinic is located in Middlefield, Ohio, in the center of the world's fourth largest Amish settlement and just 40 minutes east of metropolitan Cleveland. Cleveland offers world class arts, culture, outdoor recreation, universities, medical facilities, and an international airport. Our location offers a high-quality of life; allowing for short commutes to affordable housing and high quality schools in suburban, small town and rural communities.
